Structural Engineer,

Description: Design and size structural steel components and buildings based on given loads and standards using the latest design and calculation software. Complete structural design calculations, feasibility studies, conceptual design & design analysis reports, criteria development, design/installation drawings with specifications and data sheets, and technical evaluation of electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters and associated ductwork applied to large industrial air pollution control systems. Carryout cost effective optimization of materials and erection labor for the design of large electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters & associated ductwork. Support projects from inception to closeout. Resolve conflicts and provide solutions.

Required: Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering plus 2 years experience as Civil/Structural Engineer.
Must have at least 1 yrs experience (may be consistent with experience above) with STAADPro, GTSTRUDL, TEKLA Structures, performance of static and seismic and finite element analysis and design, AISC codes, ACI 318, ACI 349, ASCE 7 and IBC. Must have completed college level coursework in Finite Element Analysis, Advanced Concrete Design and Advanced Steel Design.

General Purpose:
Ensure that projects involving engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and startup scope finish on time and within budget.
Act as liaison between company and customer.

Description:
Maintain project’s financial budget and schedules of projects under assignment.
Supervise project team members to ensure that all tasks are carried out in a timely manner to accomplish the project.
Prepare sales forecasts, billing forecasts and invoices.
Approve materials budget. Assist in the approval of erection & fabrication subcontractors.
Schedule materials and field staff. Maintain positive cash flow on the projects.

Required:
Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Six Sigma Certification required.
Must have at least 3 years experience as Project Manager in charge of air pollution control systems projects.
Must have experience with process design, performance and project engineering of NOx and particulate emissions control technology.
Must have working knowledge of scheduling software MS Project.

Structural Designer

General Purpose : The structural designer is responsible for producing accurate, detailed structural engineering and fabrication drawings based primarily on input from the structural engineer; additional responsibilities may include mechanical equipment arrangement and details. The designer will be independently developing drawings of large scale Air Pollution Control (APC) equipment used in the power generation and other similar industries. The designer will create and organize drawings, and support the execution team's activities to assure that the project work is completed on time and at minimal cost.

Essential Functions:

  • Produce AUTOCAD 2006 drawings with Bills of Material of heavy fabricated beam/column design for support steel; reinforced steel plate components, as used for casing wall panels, roofs, hoppers and ductwork of APC equipment typically operating at high temperatures. Additionally, prepare erection drawings and material lists for field installation of the designed components.
  • Review and interpret Customer specifications, structural design codes/standards, as well as engineering design sketches, data sheets and spreadsheets.
  • Produce AUTOCAD 2006 drawings of auxiliary structural or mechanical equipment including access, ash conveyors (material handling), fans, pressure blowers, silos and process piping including arrangement and installation drawings.
  • Responsible for producing drawings that accurately describe the work required for fabrication shops, containing sufficient detail and description of welding processes and other types of connections.
  • Maintain accurate, organized project and proposal files.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Competencies required for job performance –

  • Minimum 3-5 years AUTOCAD industrial design experience required; qualified on AUTOCAD 2004 as a minimum, 2006 preferred; 3D modeling experience a plus.
  • Good communication and planning skills; ability to read and interpret technical drawings/spreadsheets and to understand technical concepts is required.
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Imaginative technical problem-solving capability and an understanding of electrostatic precipitators, baghouses and spray dryers would be a genuine plus. Understanding of power plants and other industrial processes needing air pollution control equipment would be preferred.
  • Familiar with MS OFFICE SUITE, Lotus Notes.
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple projects that are in various phases of completeness and to meet project deadlines.

Education and/or Training: Associates degree and equivalent experience. CBEEC required training as offered.

Travel Requirements: None expected; location is an engineering office environment.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Proposal Manager

General Purpose: The proposal manager is responsible for directing the proposal development process, in accordance with corporate procedures, to assure accurate and competitive proposals are produced. The proposal manager will promptly and expeditiously handles internal and external customer inquiries and needs. They are responsible for the preparation of all documents necessary to quote proposals and are expected to take leadership role in developing costs and writing proposals that provide solutions to customer problems. The proposal manager will be creating and organizing documents, scheduling meetings, and coordinating internal and external activities to assure that each proposal is completed on time and at minimal cost.

Essential Functions:

  • A. General- Manages all phases of proposal preparation including:
    • Review customer specifications and distribute copies to appropriate people for additional input or review.
    • Prepares data sheets that describe the scope of the proposal and reviews scope with all parties to assure they have a clear understanding of the project and what deliverables are required from them.
    • Responsible for scheduling specification review meeting, proposal drawing preparation, resolving scope questions, estimate preparation and obtaining quotations from vendors as part of cost development.
    • Responsible for producing proposals that describe accurately the scope of work and contain sufficient detail and description so that it is understood by the Customer.
    • Responsible for ensuring the commercial aspects of the proposal are accurate and within corporate guidelines.
    • Make site visits and inspections as required.
    • Participate in and contribute to preparation of proposal presentations.
    • Maintain accurate, organized proposal files.
    • Provides “as sold” documents to the Project Manager and attends contract kickoff meeting.
  • B. System design and assistance as follows:
    • Provides design assistance to projects as required.
    • Assist other personnel with various design and operational problem solutions.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
Competencies required for job performance –

  • Understanding of electrostatic precipitators, spray dryers, and baghouses.
  • 7-10 years field/engineering experience on operation of electrostatic precipitators and baghouses and the hardware that is used to operate them.
  • Understanding of industrial processes where air pollution control equipment would be utilized.
  • Familiar with MS OFFICE SUITE, Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to write clearly, develop spreadsheets, independent reasoning ability, planning and organizing, etc. Must have the ability to work on several projects that are various phase of completeness and withstand the pressure of working to meet a project deadline.

Education and/or Training: Engineering degree or Equivalent experience. EEC required training as offered.

Travel Requirements: It is anticipated that domestic travel could be up to 10-20%. International travel could become a part of the travel scope as applicant becomes more familiar with technology.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
